Navy Cup

After some discussion last year , it was agreed that the yardsticks we are using are from Victoria and will have been calculated on the traditional triangular course. We sail on a loop, which usually means that we have a beat and then a dead run. This disadvantages the boats which plane easily as they tend to go faster on the reaches. I have looked back through the last 3 seasons and found 10 races where the various classes have competed and calculated our yardsticks. I have left the Herons at 144 and changed the Tasars from 107.5 to 114 and the Sabres from 126 to 131. Mosquito from 84 to 90.

I have applied these to the last 2 seasons and the results tend to be well spread. We can modify it if needs be at the end of the season.

I have applied them to Race 1 so the results read out on Saturday are now corrected and can be viewed on the link below.

If we sail at Weeroona I think we should apply the old ones for that race, as we are sailing the triangular course.

If there are any protests then take it up with the committee.
